Endodontists in Minnesota are always asked when it they may require endodontic treatment. Endodontic treatment is necessary when the pulp, the soft tissue inside the root canal, is inflamed or infected. The occurrence of inflammation cause microorganisms and toxins, they penetrate, in most cases, into the pulp from the caries cavity and provoke pain. There can be also other causes of inflammation, for example, repeated dental treatment of the tooth, injury and others. In case of inflammation or infection of the pulp there are necrotic tissue and decayed products in the untreated root canal that may cause pain or abscess (purulent inflammation of tissues).
